Occupational Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Ever since 2015, NRI Institute of Health Sciences has been providing students with a rich and diverse learning environment. Our teaching methods help to launch students into the successful future they have always dreamed of.


 

The objective of the Occupational Associate of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is to prepare graduates to qualify for employment at hospitals, doctor’s offices, radiology centers, and independent diagnostic imaging centers.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is a continuous semesterly credit hour program. Courses must be taken in the order presented unless otherwise noted.

Minimum
requirements
for enrollment

A minimum 2.0/4.0 GPA based on high school diploma, 12 credits from another college is required, or a minimum score of 500 or 50 (depending on district) on the GED exam as documented on sealed unopened transcript or results of the GED exam.

 Tuition & Fees

TOTAL TUITION =  $48,112.                               

This amount includes required credit hours, books, lab, and externship fees.

We have Diagnostic Medical Sonography scholarships available for the Spring Semester 2025.

Spring Semester starts January 6, 2025!

  • Students will be prepared for entry-level positions as Sonographers.

  • Students will have a varied skill set so that they can successfully image organs and other body components of their prospective patients for diagnoses, pregnancy monitoring, and other medical purposes.

  • Upon graduation and twelve (12) months of full-time clinical experience, graduates of NRI Institute of Health Sciences will be able to apply for examinations of choice. This includes areas such as the abdomen, breast, adult and fetal echocardiography, neurosonology, obstetrics and gynecology, and vascular.

  • In addition to these above stated examinations students will be eligible and able to successfully complete the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Examination.

Career Opportunities

Historically NRI Institute of Health Sciences graduates have ample opportunities for employment in hospitals, clinics, private practice and state and federal agencies

In its 2020 publication, the Bureau of Labor Statistics predict 17% sonography job growth between 2019 and 2029, which they define as “much faster than average."
